Keith SuttonKeith Sutton
Class of 1927

Keith Sutton dedicated his life to preserving and promoting athletics in Wayne County. For over an incredible 50 years, he served as the Sports Editor of The Wayne Independent, where he became the voice of local sports and a trusted historian for generations of athletes and fans.

His passion for documenting history led to the publication of the 101-Year History of Wayne County Sports, a comprehensive record that continues to serve as a cornerstone of our community’s athletic legacy.

Beyond journalism, Sutton played an active role in the development of sports organizations throughout the county. He served as both President and Secretary of the Wayne County Baseball League and as Secretary of the Wayne Athletics Association, helping to grow opportunities for athletes and strengthen community connections through sport.

Keith Sutton’s lifelong dedication and unwavering commitment to athletics have left a lasting impact on Wayne County, making him a true pillar of our sports history and a deserving inductee into the Honesdale High School Wall of Fame, Class of 2025.

Terrin AshTerrin Ash
Class of 1995

During the early 1990s, Terrin Ash established himself as one of the most dominant running backs in Pennsylvania high school football history. A graduate of Honesdale High School, Class of 1995, Ash set records that placed him among the state’s all-time greats.

In 1992, as just a sophomore, Ash broke the Pennsylvania single-season rushing record, running for an astounding 2,669 yards. He continued to rewrite the record books throughout his career, ultimately becoming the state’s all-time leading rusher at the time, finishing with 7,748 career rushing yards. Today, he still ranks 9th on the Pennsylvania all-time rushing list.

Ash’s remarkable performances became the stuff of legend in Honesdale football history. One highlight came in 1993, when he rushed for 258 yards and three touchdowns in a 26–6 victory over Western Wayne.

Terrin Ash’s talent, determination, and record-breaking achievements left a lasting mark on Pennsylvania high school football, earning him a well-deserved place in the Honesdale High School Wall of Fame, Class of 2025.

Renee Robbins LandoRenee Robbins Lando
Class of 1985

A trailblazer in girls’ athletics at Honesdale, Renee Robbins Lando made her mark as a standout in both cross country and track & field. A member of Honesdale’s inaugural cross country team in 1982, she quickly established herself as one of the best runners in the region and state.

Lando was the driving force behind Honesdale’s Lackawanna League Championships in 1983 and 1984 and the PIAA District II AAA titles in both years. She went undefeated in every Lackawanna League meet throughout her career, setting records not only on Honesdale’s home course but also on every course in the league. She was the Lackawanna League Individual Champion in 1982, 1983, and 1984, and twice finished 7th at the PIAA State Cross Country Championships.

On the track, Lando was equally dominant. Competing in the 800m, 1600m, 3200m, and 4x800 relay, she set school records in all three distance events — with her 1600m and 3200m records still standing today. She was a Lackawanna League Champion in the 1600m and 3200m from 1983–1985, won eight District championships, and set two District records. At the PIAA State Championships, she earned multiple medals, including silver in the 3200m in 1984 and 1985 and bronze in 1984.

Her success earned her a full scholarship to Lafayette College in Easton, PA, where she continued her athletic career at the collegiate level.

Renee Robbins Lando’s record-breaking performances, leadership, and pioneering role in Honesdale girls’ athletics have solidified her as one of the most accomplished athletes in school history and a distinguished inductee into the Honesdale High School Wall of Fame, Class of 2025.

Josh ArnoneJosh Arnone
Class of 2005

One of the most accomplished wrestlers in Honesdale history, Josh Arnone built a legacy defined by toughness, consistency, and championship success. A five-time letter winner, Arnone compiled a remarkable career record of 156–8, cementing his place among Pennsylvania’s elite. In high school, he was a four-time PIAA District 2 Champion and the AAA Northeast Regional Champion in his senior year. He lost only one dual meet in his Hornet career and continues to hold the majority of the statistical records for the Honesdale wrestling program.

He broke onto the state scene early, placing 7th at the PIAA State Championships in 2001, before improving to 2nd place in 2004. As a senior, Arnone reached the pinnacle of high school wrestling, becoming Honesdale’s first and only state champion. His excellence extended beyond Pennsylvania, as he also earned 6th place at the Greco-Roman National Championships.

Following his historic high school career, Arnone continued wrestling at the collegiate level, enjoying a standout career at Cornell University, competing at the highest levels of Division I wrestling. At Cornell, he was a two-time NCAA qualifier, earned All-America honors in 2007 after finishing eighth at 184 pounds, and was a two-time All-Ivy League selection, including a first-team pick as a senior. He also received the EIWA Sheridan Award in 2008 for most falls in the least amount of time at the EIWA Championships.

Josh Arnone’s relentless drive, historic accomplishments, and role as Honesdale’s only state wrestling champion secure his place in Hornet history and make him a deserving inductee into the Honesdale High School Wall of Fame, Class of 2025.

Richard "Chooch" ChuladaRichard "Chooch" Chulada
 Honesdale Wrestling Coach 

After graduating from Wake Forest University, Rich Chulada dedicated his entire career to the Wayne Highlands School District, serving as a history teacher, Head Wrestling Coach, and First Assistant Football Coach for 32 years.

As a football coach, Chulada mentored countless young men and contributed to many championship teams. He cherished the relationships he built with fellow coaches, including Butch Keller, a lifelong friend and fellow Wall of Fame inductee, who inspired him to continue coaching and teaching for decades.

As Head Wrestling Coach, Chulada left an indelible mark on Honesdale athletics. Arriving in 1973, he built a career record of 376–172–11, including multiple Lackawanna League Championships and an undefeated 14–0 season in 1996–1997. His teams produced numerous District Champions, League All-Stars, and League Wrestlers of the Year, and he earned Lackawanna League Coach of the Year honors in 1984–1985 and 1994.

Chulada’s impact went far beyond wins and losses. His mentorship and commitment to student-athlete development fostered a culture of excellence, discipline, and sportsmanship that continues to influence Honesdale wrestling today. One of the highlights of his career came in his final bout as corner coach, guiding Josh Arnone, another Wall of Fame inductee, to Honesdale’s only PIAA AAA State Championship, a fitting capstone to a legendary career.

For his remarkable achievements and lasting contributions to Honesdale athletics, Rich Chulada is a proud and deserving inductee into the Honesdale High School Wall of Fame, Class of 2025.

Allen β€œButch” KellerAllen “Butch” Keller
 Honesdale Football Coach & Scranton Eagles Coach

Butch Keller’s coaching career has left a lasting legacy at both Honesdale High School and in semi-professional football. Over 26 years at Honesdale, Keller guided his teams to four Class B Eastern Conference Northern Division Championships and multiple Suburban Conference titles, earning Coach of the Year honors in 1984.

He played for and coached the Lackawanna County Eagles, later becoming head coach of the Scranton Eagles in 1985, leading them to six league championships and five runner-up finishes. Under his leadership, the Eagles compiled an impressive 146–26 overall record, reflecting his consistent ability to build competitive and disciplined teams.

Keller has received numerous honors, including induction into the National Minor League Football Hall of Fame – AFL (1993) and the USFA Hall of Fame (1994). In October 1998, he was inducted into the Wayne Area Sports Hall of Fame. He also served as Commissioner of the Empire Football League for several years and was named Dream Game “Man of the Year” in 2017.

Keller’s dedication to his players, commitment to excellence, and record of sustained success make him a true pillar of Pennsylvania football, earning him a well-deserved place in the Honesdale High School Wall of Fame, Class of 2025.
