The Kate Frisch Carmody Memorial Scholarship - ($1000) will be awarded to a student planning to pursue a career in Cosmetology or a related field. Christopher Cespedes Memorial Scholarship - Sponsored by Sam Jones This $500.00 award is offered to students continuing their education (trade school, certificate program - 2 year or 4 year). Community Foundation of the Endless Mountains - R.E.S.C.U.E. Benjamin B. Stone Memorial Scholarship This scholarship was established by the staunch environmental organization "Return Susquehanna County Under Ecology" to recognize Benjamin's courageous and life long efforts that both halted threatening pollution to our region and established the Susquehanna County Recycling Center. This organization provides two post-secondary scholarships to high school graduates who, write a winning essay addressing his or her past environmental interests and accomplishments and describing future plans to protect the environment. The delegated selection committee is responsible for selecting the recipient in consultation with the Community Foundation. All applications are completed online - See link below. The Cecilia Davidson Memorial Scholarship for Nursing and Healthcare - Amount to be determined. The recipient of this scholarship should demonstrate a strong work ethic, a cheerful disposition, and commitment to helping friends, family, the sick and the aged. This person should be interested in pursing a career in nursing or generally in healthcare. A love of caring for elderly patients and financial need will also be considered. Delaware Valley Arts Alliance - Stanley J. Segal Scholarship - One $500.00 visual arts scholarship is being offered to a high school senior who will be pursuing advance studies in the field of visual art. Application is available online in the links below. Deadline: April 30, 2024


Delaware Highlands Conservancy – The Vanessa Van Gorder Memorial Scholarship – $1000 Scholarship for high school seniors planning to pursue a career in education or environmental studies. Applications are now available in the link below. The student assessment sheet should be emailed to a teacher or guidance counselor for completion and returned to Mrs. Swendsen via email by that staff member. The Dime Bank Scholarship Director's Award) will offer one $1,000 scholarship to a graduating senior who will pursue a degree in business or a related business major such as accounting, economics, marketing, etc. in an accredited school of higher education. Honesdale Odd Fellows - Freedom Lodge #88 is pleased to offer a fraternal benefit of a scholarship to help our young neighbors grow into future leaders. The Lodge recognizes the need for higher education and the increasing cost of obtaining this goal. This $500 scholarship is now awarded annually to qualified Honesdale High School graduating students who will be attending college or a vocational program after graduation. Eligibility requirements are: the student must be a HHS student in good standing for two years prior to the application deadline. The student may only win the scholarship once. The student must show proof of a cumulative average of 3.0 or B average each year. The student must be accepted as a full time student at a College/University or Vocational/Technical Institution for an entire school year. A copy of the verification must be included. United Way of Lackawanna, Wayne, and Pike Counties Scholarship - The United Way will be offering the Mike Munchak Community Service Scholarship in the amount of $6,300 to a graduating senior within Lackawanna , Wayne, Or Pike County who is actively involved in community service in programs funded by United Way, and who has been accepted to 4 year, 2 year, or trade school. Criteria for this scholarship includes: demonstrate commitment through community service activities, financial need (FAFSA score required), and academic achievement (minimum 2.5 GPA), and a letter of recommendation from community service organization director.
