Wayne Hall of Fame Grant Application
The Wayne Area Sports Hall of Fame was founded in 1994 to recognize achievements in athletics in the Wayne Area by those individuals who have played, coached, officiated, sponsored, promoted, and reported on sports. The original Hall of Fame Committee believed that new generations of Wayne Area residents would be encouraged to participate in athletic activities if they knew and appreciated the history of sports in the Wayne County Area.
With that goal in mind, the Wayne Area Sports Hall of Fame Committee has created a fund through the Wayne County Community Foundation, contributing the profits from the annual Hall of Fame Induction Banquet to the Foundation. The Hall of Fame and the Wayne County Community Foundation have entered into an agreement that this fund will be used to further the sports opportunities for the youth in the Wayne Area.
Grants for up to $500 are available to organizations that sponsor athletic activities for pre-school and school aged children in the Wayne Area. Funds may be used to promote, enhance, or develop youth sports in the Wayne Area communities. In addition, it remains a mission of the Hall of Fame Committee to further educate our local youth on all aspects of athletics. Funds are not intended for consumable items or annual expenses. Confirmation of appropriate expenditure of the funds must be presented to the Hall of Fame committee.
Below, is a grant application form. Please complete it and return it to the address indicated. The committee will approve successful applications each year at the April meeting.
